North Charleston Rail Project
North Charleston has set in motion a project with CSX and a local developer to keep rail out of the northern end of the former Navy Base,
abandon and uproot 3.2 miles of rail lines, reknit our divided communities, and take thousands of trucks off local roads. Once operational, the rail plan would
generate $73.4 million annually in economic output and create 869 permanent jobs.
