The Dorchester Road Corridor Ii District (Middle Corridor) shall include all parcels of land abutting Dorchester Road between the Mark Clark Expressway (I-526) and the Dorchester County Line. The University Boulevard Overlay District includes all parcels of land south of City of Goose Creek, east of I-26, west of Rivers Avenue/US 52 and generally north of Interstate I-26, US 52 and the US 78 Connector.

Historic and Conservation Overlay District
The City of North Charleston has recognized that area located in the Olde North Charleston District possesses unique historical attributes and it also provides for a way of life unique within the City.
The City of North Charleston has now recognized certain attributes will be protected to assure that the historic flavor of the Olde North Charleston District be properly preserved. North Charleston believes that the new regulations represent a reasonable and desirable blend between balanced growth, property rights, and community preservation.

The Department of Planning and Management has created a state of the art map forcasting new and preliminary future neighborhood developments, number of single family and multi family units by location within the Planning Areas. This map displays the residential developments from Year 2000 till 2008 to keep you informed on the latest information and location.

Aerial photography for the City of North Charleston is available for puchase upon request. Printed are aerial maps can be produced by the City.
Black & White digital YR 1999 Charleston County aerial photography can also be requested.
Mylar aerial photography panels can be viewed and copied from YR 1988. We so not this year in digital format. If you are seeking archival aerial photography prior to year 1988 we unfortunately do not have this.

Comprehensive Development Plan
The South Carolina Local Government Comprehensive Planning Enabling Act requires a local government to update its Comprehensive Development Plan every 10 Years.
The City of North Charleston's Department of Planning & Zoning, the Planning Commission and its Advisory Committe completed the Comprehensive Development Plan. It was adopted on July 24, 2008. The city obtained the services of Robert & Company of Atlanta, Georgia who assisted the update of this plan.
Comprehensive Development Plan gives information about Population, Housing, Economic Development, Future Land Use, Natural Resources, Cultural Resources, Community Facilities and Transportation.
