Traffic Tickets
If you are issued a traffic summons, you may either post the bond written on the summons or appear in court at the date and time indicated. Be sure you understand when and where you are to appear. NO PERSONAL CHECKS ACCEPTED.
Parking Tickets
Parking tickets must be paid within 48 hours after issuance or the fine is doubled. To contest a parking ticket, you must contact the Clerk of Court, who will arrange a hearing and inform you when and where to appear.
Payment of Bonds & Fines
Bonds and fines for Municipal Court cases and traffic tickets may be paid at 2500 City Hall Lane. Payment must be by cash, certified check, money order, or credit card. NO PERSONAL CHECKS ACCEPTED. Payment is accepted:
- 8:00 am to 4:30 pm, Monday - Friday
- 11:00 am to 1:00 pm, Saturday and Sunday
- Closed for major holidays
The Charleston County Detention Center takes bond paments 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
