Afterschool Programs
Children age 5 years - 12 years of age are eligible to participate in the afterschool program. This program is located at 16 sites throughout North Charleston. Enrollment is limited at each site. Parents are encouraged to register in early August. In the afterschool program, children are permitted to complete homework, play games, work on crafts or simply enjoy activities at the park. Mini Camps
Mini Camps are held on most Charleston County School holidays. Camps hours vary. Children are provided both indoor and outdoor recreation activities. Summer Camps
Dates: June 6- August 5 (depending on the ending/starting dates of the school calendar)

The NCRD's Summer Camps are a great opportunity for your children. Children are well supervised and enjoy numerous opportunities throughout the summer. All campers will receive a nutritious lunch each day. Each participant will receive a camp T-shirt that must be worn on all field trips. Registration for City of North Charleston Summer Camp begins the second Monday in February. SPACES ARE LIMITED and fill quickly! Children age 5 years - 12 years old are eligible to enroll. West African Dance at Felix Pinckney Community Center
Nia Productions takes pride in teaching West african Dance to youths 4-18 years old each Tuesday from 5:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m. Nia means "Purpose" in the East African Kiswahili language. Its siter company "Wona Womalon" teaches West African dance to adults 18+ on Tuesdays from 6:30 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. and on Thursdays from 5:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. Wona Womalon means "Let's come Together" in the West African Susu language. Mid-Morning Twirlers Square Dancing
