Children’s Theatre Series

Children’s Theatre performances are presented at the Sterett Hall Auditorium at 1530 7th Street on the former Charleston Naval Base (unless otherwise noted). Performances begin at 10:00am and last approximately one hour. Picnic facilities and open areas are available at the nearby Riverfront Park for groups to enjoy an outdoor lunch following the performance.

 

Admission, Reservations, and Payment:
Tickets are $2 per child; accompanying adults are admitted at no charge (unless otherwise noted). Admission fee is waived for students on free/reduced lunch status. Group reservations are required.

Seats fill up fast, so reserve early by calling the City of North Charleston Cultural Arts Department office at 843-740-5854.

Payment is due at the door, but may be made in advance. Cash, check, Visa, Mastercard, and American Express are accepted.

Atlantic Coast Theatre for Youth presents A Beatrix Potter Holiday
Famous children's author, Beatrix Potter, arrives to entertain the guests at her annual holiday party.  Stories such as "The Tailor Of Gloucester" and "The Rabbit's Christmas Party" come to life on stage with the help of the audience.  Her most famous character, Peter Rabbit, may even surprise the guests.

Bright Star Touring Theatre presents in honor of Black History Month Struggle for Freedom
This performance celebrates the work and life of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. in the context of the American Civil Rights Movement with the opportunity to experience the heroic work of Rosa Parks and the Montgomery Bus Boycott, the March on Washington and many more of the events and key moments of this time. Performance is best for Grades 3-adult.

Porkchop Productions  presents Sticks & Stones
This performance is a light-hearted romp through a very serious epidemic children are facing everyday. Told in Porkchop’s signature whimsical style, this performance addresses the major steps to implement when confronted with a bully. Porkchop Productions has worked closely with several community and state organizations to design a performance that will inspire, educate as well as entertain. For grades K – 8.
2 performance times: 10am show is FULL, seats still available for 11:15am-12:15pm show
