MISSION STATEMENT:
The mission of Keep North Charleston Beautiful is to enhance the beauty of the City of North Charleston through hands-on beautification events and programs. KNCB supports litter reduction efforts through education and by supporting community cleanups.
In 2011, KNCB accomplished this mission by supporting 139 events with more than 14,500 volunteers; picking up more than 6,000 bags of litter and debris; planting 2,769 flowers and trees; cleaning 46 miles of roadway and 30 acres of parks; and educating more than 7,000 children and young adults on the importance of volunteerism and environmental stewardship.
HISTORY:
Keep North Charleston Beautiful was founded in 2000. KNCB is a [501(c)3] non-profit organization and an award-winning affiliate of Keep America Beautiful.
FUNDING:
Keep North Charleston Beautiful is largely funded by community sponsors through grants, donations, and memberships. The City of North Charleston provides the additional funding needed to support our beautification programs.
Keep North Charleston Beautiful has several fundraising programs such as: electronics recycling, Treescape, and KNCB merchandise sales.
